Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussman, a Parisian fashion institution since 1893
Nestled in the heart of the capital, in the 9th arrondissement, you can see the imposing edifice of this Haussmann-style mega-store. Covering more than 70,000 square meters on 7 floors, Galeries Lafayette brings together no fewer than 3,500 brands.
This legendary building, enthroned on Boulevard Haussmann, is topped by a sublime, colorful Art Nouveau-style dome (a must-see) whose highest point is 43 meters above the ground. The Galeries Lafayette dome is an architectural feat appreciated by all! It is the fruit of the collaboration of three iconic artists. Ferdinand Chanut for the geometry and structure, Jacques Grüber for the stained glass and Louis Majorelle for the ironwork. For almost 110 years, La Coupole has kept pace with the department store’s changes and renovations, including successive extensions. Over the years, Le Grand Magasin has become a must-see for fashion lovers and a major tourist attraction in the City of Light.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a multitude of fashion, beauty and accessories boutiques. On the first floor, you’ll find major jewelry and haute horlogerie houses, numerous beauty corners and luxury leather goods.
Upstairs, fashionistas can indulge themselves with a wide range of prestigious brands such as Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga and Prada. We also feature high-end brands such as Maje, Sandro and Claudie Pierlot, as well as designer labels like Axel Arigato and Ganni.
On the 3rd floor, you can discover the (re)Store space, entirely dedicated to second-hand accessories and clothing. Galeries Lafayette has decided to team up with key players in second-hand and responsible design. Divided into several corners, you’ll find a wide selection of one-off pieces, a Go for Good* fashion and lifestyle offer, as well as unique (re)sale and (re)cycling services to give a second life to your old pieces. These corners include Resap Paris, Entremains and Salut Beauté.
The department store welcomes you to more than 20 food and beverage out lets, where you can enjoy lunch or a sweet or savory snack while you shop. Visit world-famous brands such as DS Café EL&N and Joe and The Juice, as well as concepts exclusive to Galeries Lafayette, such as our self-service restaurant Lafayette Café.
