Valentino by Alessandro Michele everyday life becomes a poem
What if magic were hidden in the ordinary? For his first campaign at the helm of Valentino, Alessandro Michele deploys a lyrical vision of everyday life, re-enchanted by clothing. A gentle, radical visual interlude in a world saturated with images.
An aesthetic of silence and gaze
Entitled Fall 2025, this campaign marks a turning point in the world of the Italian house. Filmed by Glen Luchford and punctuated by the crystalline voice of Juliette Armanet, who sings Imaginer l’Amour, the video is a manifesto of slowness and attentiveness. Fixed shots reveal an imaginary city where simple gestures – walking a dog, enjoying an ice cream, driving – become scenes from an everyday theater.
Far from the usual effervescence of fashion, Alessandro Michele opts for purity: a series of suspended moments where the ordinary becomes precious, almost sacred. We meet Amelia Gray and Marie-Sophie Wilson, faces chosen to embody this quiet beauty.
A baroque collection rooted in reality
Through the images, the collection is revealed in touches: leopard prints, puffed sleeves, imposing furs and T-shirts with a green message intertwine in a contrasting wardrobe between dream and reality. The decor, deliberately frozen, echoes Alessandro Michele’s approach: slowing down the gaze, letting emotion emerge.
The campaign assumes a nostalgic flavour, but above all an assertive desire to rethink the relationship with clothing. According to the designer, it’s a question of “overcoming the anaesthesia of the gaze” to rediscover the link between gesture and meaning.
A changing room to reenchant the moment
With Valentino, fashion becomes a way of inhabiting the world differently. Clothes are no longer mere objects of desire, but fragments of the self, carrying an intimate message. In this way, the campaign charts a new course for the house, between heritage and imagination.
