Vacations: museums to do with children
Parisian museums offer a rich program of poetry, architecture and sensory discovery for inquisitive young minds.
For spring break 2025, Parisian museums are turning their attention to the very young with fun workshops, interactive exhibitions and immersive experiences. There’s plenty to keep kids busy, while stimulating their imagination and their taste for culture. Here’s an overview of the must-see events in Paris between April 12 and 27.
The Musée d’Orsay: art, architecture and history
The Musée d’Orsay is transforming its majestic Salle des Fêtes into a space dedicated to families. From April 12 to 27 (every day except Monday), children will be able to discover the museum’s collections thanks to specially adapted guided tours, as well as taking part in art workshops, exploring a story hut, a reading corner and giant games. The emphasis is on the history of Parisian urban planning, to awaken curiosity about architecture and the urban landscape. An educational and sensory approach that will delight young and old alike.
Center Pompidou: a city fit for children
Before it closes for renovation in September 2025, the Centre Pompidou still has plenty for families to discover. Until June 30, the Galerie des Enfants is hosting the exhibition “Il était une ville”, designed by Sarah de Gouy. This work takes the form of a large-scale immersive model, designed as a miniature city, where children explore urban dynamics through visual, sound and tactile games. An excellent way to understand the challenges of the modern city… from a child’s point of view.
Atelier des Lumières: a large-format Little Prince in one of the world’s most magical museums
For a poetic and sensory voyage, head for theAtelier des Lumières, which presents “Le Petit Prince – L’Odyssée Immersive” from April 11 to July 6. Immersed in Saint-Exupéry‘s universe, young audiences (and their parents) will be thrilled to rediscover the rose, the fox and the planets of the famous tale. Thanks to spectacular digital scenography, the watercolors come to life, projected onto the walls and floor in a luminous and poetic ballet.
