“Tous à l’Opéra”: 3 days of free admission

From May 9 to 11, 2025, France’s finest opera houses open their doors free of charge. A cultural immersion not to be missed.

This spring, opera becomes more democratic than ever with the 18th edition of “Tous à l’Opéra”, a national event celebrating artistic diversity and openness to the general public. From May 9 to 11, 2025, a number of prestigious establishments in Paris and the Île-de-France region will be welcoming the curious, enthusiasts and those who simply enjoy sensory discoveries, free of charge.

An evocative theme: “Melting Pot

Dubbed “Melting Pot”, this edition emphasizes multidisciplinarity, inclusion and the richness of cultural influences. A vibrant tribute to the variety of forms of expression that opera now embraces: song, dance, music, performance, in an accessible and open staging.

The emblematic venues involved? The Opéra de Massy, Opéra Garnier, Opéra Royal de Versailles and Opéra-Comique are among the headliners. Guided tours, open rehearsals, workshops, concerts: the full program will be unveiled mid-April on the event’s official website. Access is free on registration, guaranteeing a quality experience while promoting proximity.

Brilliant, committed sponsors

This year, two charismatic figures embody the project: Marina Viotti, Franco-Swiss mezzo-soprano, and François Chaignaud, multidisciplinary choreographer and dancer. Together, they symbolizeaudacity, transversality and contemporary artistic excellence.

Marina Viotti is a rising star in the world of opera. In 2025, she became the first woman to win a Grammy Award in the metal performance category, while continuing to win awards at the Victoires de la Musique Classique and the International Opera Awards. Her latest album “Melankhôlia” explores the voice in all its intensities.

Alongside him, CNSMDP graduate François Chaignaud is making his mark on the international scene with his unique body language. Celebrated for his collaborations with Cecilia Bengolea, he will also be the subject of a portrait at the Festival d’Automne 2025 in Paris.

A rendezvous for all at the Opéra

At a time when culture is becoming more accessible, “Tous à l’Opéra” offers much more than just a free weekend. It offers a sensory, artistic and human immersion in places often perceived as elitist. It’s the perfect opportunity to marvel… without spending a cent.
