This secret rooftop looks like a hanging garden and offers an oriental-style brunch.

What if this spring’s most exotic destination didn’t require a passport or plane ticket? From the heights of the Institut du Monde Arabe, Dar Mima transforms Paris into a mirage.

Dar Mima: a paradise suspended between sky and Mediterranean

As soon as you cross the threshold of the rooftop, the décor takes you by surprise. Jasmine, lemon and almond trees, singing fountains… Here, Paris gently fades behind a curtain of oriental greenery. Laura Gonzalez, a magician of atmosphere, designed this suspended garden, conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of the Persian paradise.

Under the aegis of Laurent de Gourcuff and Jamel Debbouze, Dar Mima doesn’t try to show off. It suggests, evokes, caresses. As night falls, the golden lights reflect on the domes of the IMA, while the song of percussion and clinking glasses rises. An interlude. A world apart.

A cuisine of memory, between tradition and modernity

But Dar Mima is also about food. And on that plate is Jamel’s mother Fatima, and with her an entire family and culinary history. Each dish celebrates the generosity of large Oriental tables: couscous, zaalouk, fragrant tajines… Sharing is the rule, taste a promise kept.

New this season: brunch. Offered every weekend, it combines Parisian classics with signature Moroccan recipes. You’ll find Moroccan-style eggs and crepes mille trous, toast with smoked Atlas trout and a crispy chicken burger. And mint tea, of course.

A daring mix that celebrates the crossroads of cultures, between Café Saint-Germain and the medina of Marrakech.

Lunch menu, live music and spiced cocktails

On weekdays, Dar Mima offers a €45 lunch menu (starter – main course – dessert) that varies according to the season and the inspiration of the moment. Afternoons slip into a more relaxed atmosphere, where coffee is extended with a cumin or jasmine cocktail, while the central bar becomes a theater for oriental mixologies.

From Wednesday evening, the place is electrified. Live band, DJ, percussion, soulful vocals: the terrace vibrates with a solar energy that’s never flashy. New for 2025: Sundays become festive, with an extended brunch and oriental-chic ambience until late afternoon.
