According to Deadline, this film would represent the most commercial project ever undertaken by Paul Thomas Anderson. A change of direction for the director, whose filmography generally oscillates between poetry and absurdity(Punch Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood). The scope of the project and the presence of DiCaprio suggest a new ambition: to marry Anderson’s singular style with mainstream accessibility.
