Le Grand Dîner du Louvre: a gala that raises 1.4 million euros

A not-to-be-missed event combining art, fashion and philanthropy, the Grand Dîner du Louvre surpassed all expectations, raising 1.4 million euros to support the museum and its activities. Here’s a look back at this exceptional evening.

A French-style MET Gala for heritage preservation

On March 4, 2025, on the occasion of Paris Fashion Week, the Musée du Louvre organized its Grand Dîner, a charity event inspired by New York’s MET Gala. The initial goal was to raise one million euros, but the evening far exceeded expectations, with donations totalling 1.4 million euros.

Sponsored by Visa Infinite, the evening was supported by prestigious brands such as Cartier, Chanel, Gucci, Lancôme and Van Cleef & Arpels. Over 350 guests from the worlds of fashion, art and luxury gathered in the sumptuous setting of the Cour Marly, where a dinner signed by three-star chef Anne-Sophie Pic was served before an after-party under the Pyramid by I. M. Pei Pyramid.

A celebration of fashion with the “Louvre Couture” exhibition

As well as raising funds, the evening also gave guests a sneak preview of the “Louvre Couture. Objets d’art, objets de mode”, inaugurated in January and on view until July 21, 2025.

This unique retrospective, developed in collaboration with 45 fashion houses and designers (Prada, Loewe, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, Schiaparelli, Jacquemus…), highlights 65 contemporary silhouettes and some 30 accessories, in dialogue with historic pieces from the museum’s collections.

A success that calls for a new edition

In response to the enthusiasm generated by this unique format, the Louvre Museum has already confirmed that a new edition of the Grand Dîner will be held in March 2026. An elegant way to celebrate the union between art, luxury and patronage, while ensuring the transmission and preservation of cultural heritage.
