The Britannic Explorer, A Belmond Train: the first spa on rails

Belmond unveils an exceptional train dedicated to well-being, surfing on the trend of slow travel and immersive experiences.

At a time when slow travel is establishing itself as a popular alternative to express travel, Belmond, under the aegis of the LVMH group, is innovating with a unique concept: the first rail spa in Britain. Called Britannic Explorer, A Belmond Train, this new rolling hotel, which will enter service in July 2025, promises an unparalleled experience of relaxation across the British countryside.

A Wildsmith wellness suite

At the heart of the Britannic Explorer, a wellness suite has been fitted out to offer five exclusive wellness experiences, developed by the Wildsmith brand. Designed around regeneration, sleep and mindfulness, these services are based on local ingredients from Wildsmith’s biodynamic farm at Heckfield Place.

The suite’s olive-green walls create a soothing atmosphere, while the large panoramic windows offer total immersion in the verdant landscapes of England and Wales.

A star-studded gastronomic experience

The Britannic Explorer is not only about physical well-being, but also about a refined culinary experience. The train features 18 cabins and two dining cars, Malva and Samphire, under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan.

Wellness, a booming market and a Belmond promise

With this project, Belmond strengthens its position in the fast-growing wellness travel market. According to an ILTM study, 62% of affluent travellers look for wellness facilities in hotels, a figure that rises to 79% according to the Accor group.

Combining luxury, relaxation and exploration, the Britannic Explorer promises to be an exclusive and immersive experience, ideal for lovers of exceptional travel.
