Sonia Rykiel reissues an iconic Sex and The City top

The Sonia Rykiel brand revives nostalgia for the 2000s by reissuing an iconic top. The famous top worn by Carrie Bradshaw in the cult series Sex and The City. This boat-neck sailor top, adorned with a large fabric rose, appeared in the episode “An American Girl in Paris” (Season 6, episode 1), when Carrie lands in the French capital.
A cult classic makes a comeback
With the rise of retro fashion and Y2K, many iconic pieces from the 2000s are enjoying a new moment of glory. John Galliano’s newspapers line for Dior, worn in the series and popularized by Kim Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski, recently fetched over €15,000 at auction.
Taking advantage of this craze, Sonia Rykiel – despite the absence of an artistic director since 2019 – is bringing this iconic sweater back to the fore. It also comes in a dress version, available now on the brand’s official website.
Sex and The City: a timeless fashion influence
Since its broadcast, Sex and The City has been hailed for its impact on fashion, propelling pieces that have become legendary. Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, embodies bold, timeless fashion, influencing trends to this day.
