Alessandro Furchino Capria: floral exhibition at Saint Laurent

From February 5 to March 16, Saint Laurent Rive Droite welcomes the exhibition “Limehouse Flowers” by Alessandro Furchino Capria. A poetic immersion in a fragile and bewitching plant universe.

A sensitive look at urban nature

Italian photographer Alessandro Furchino Capria, known for his work in the world of glossy paper, unveils his very first solo show in Paris. Presented at Saint Laurent Babylone, this exhibition highlights a series of images taken in 2020, a period marked by isolation and a rediscovery of the simple elements of everyday life.

The shots capture the delicacy of London’s flowers, immortalized through a hazy, poetic prism. In a world where man was slowing down for the first time in a long time, these flowers continued to bloom freely, bearing witness to a suspended time.

A dialogue between nature and fashion

This exhibition resonates artistically with the world of Yves Saint Laurent, who always drew inspiration from nature. While the Musée Yves Saint Laurent currently explores the couturier’s passion for flowers, Saint Laurent Rive Droite showcases a contemporary interpretation of this timeless theme.

For Alessandro Furchino Capria, these photos also reflect a moment of introspection. In an interview in 2020, he spoke of his desire to return to a normal life: “We’ll go back. We’ll go back to lying in the sun, in the park.” Five years later, this return to nature takes on an artistic dimension in a gallery in the 7th arrondissement of Paris.
