Louvre Couture: the exhibition in book form
The haute couture exhibition Louvre Couture, running at the Musée du Louvre until July 21, 2025, has been enriched by an event book. The book, published by La Martinière, will be released on January 31. I It will bring together the finest creations on display, as well as exclusive interviews with designers.
The Musée du Louvre follows in the tradition of major exhibitions that find an extension on paper. With Louvre Couture, objets d’art, objets de mode, visitors can keep a visual record of the textile masterpieces featured in this exceptional exhibition. The catalog is conceived as a tribute to haute couture and art history. It promises to capture the very essence of the dialogue between fashion and heritage.
Louvre Couture, the book for fashion enthusiasts
This groundbreaking book will offer an in-depth look at iconic silhouettes from the most prestigious fashion houses: from Yves Saint Laurent to Balmain, via Dior, Givenchy, Schiaparelli and Jean Paul Gaultier. Each piece will be showcased in a unique setting: the historic galleries of the Louvre. The aim of this staging is to establish “an unprecedented and fruitful dialogue” between fashion and the museum’s permanent collections. Art historians and artistic directors will also contribute their expertise to deciphering these creations.
A major event: the Grand Dîner du Louvre
Following in the footsteps of the Met Gala, the museum will host its first Grand Dîner on March 4, 2025. This exceptional evening will bring together the elite of fashion and culture for a dinner in the Cour Marly, followed by an after-party under the Louvre Pyramid. Over thirty tables will be on sale, with the aim of raising funds for the museum’s projects.
