Dior unveils its haute couture décor to the public at the Rodin Museum
The House of Dior invites the public to discover an exceptional scenography designed for its Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2025 show, on view until February 2, 2025 at the Rodin Museum in Paris.
An emblematic location for Dior
For several years now, Dior has made the gardens of the Rodin Museum one of its preferred venues for presenting its haute couture collections. Each season, this verdant setting in the heart of Paris hosts an ephemeral dome specially designed to exhibit exclusive works by female artists. Under the artistic direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first woman to head the House since its creation in 1946, these installations highlight themes such as freedom, femininity and timelessness.
Artists who have collaborated with Dior include Judy Chicago, Eva Jospin and recently Faith Ringgold, whose works celebrate universal values such as the Olympic Games. This season, it’s Indian artist Rithika Merchant‘s turn to transform the space with an immersive installation entitled The Flowers We Grew.
A collaborative, immersive work
Rithika Merchant‘s work, created in collaboration with Chanakya ateliers and the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai, is embodied in nine woven and embroidered wall panels. These colorful, naturalistic frescoes explore themes dear to the designer, such asfemale empowerment and the connection between heart and soul, symbolized by the recurring figure of the eye. In addition to the embroidered frescoes, the exhibition includes the artist’s original drawings, offering a complete immersion in her world.
