Sean Suen pays tribute to the Tea and Horse Route

Sean Suen’s Autumn-Winter 2025-26 collection draws its inspiration from the legendary Tea and Horse Route, a thousand-year-old network of commercial and cultural exchanges linking the Tibetan plateau to southwest China.

Historical and cultural exploration

For millennia, the Tea and Horse Route has been an essential axis for the trade of products such as tea, silk or cordyceps, while linking diverse ethnic groups such as the Han, Tibetans or Naxi. These exchanges have woven a rich cultural and spiritual heritage that Sean Suen reinvents through his “骧” (Xiang) collection. This name, evoking a noble horse, symbolizes movement, evolution and travel.

An aesthetic between tradition and modernity

The collection appropriates the colors and textures of the landscapes through which caravans pass, blending natural materials such as wool and leather with modern technological fabrics. Each piece reflects a balance between function and aesthetics, recalling the adaptability of caravans in the face of natural challenges.

Sean Suen interprets fashion as a tool for cultural exchange. This approach fuses past and future, linking Asian traditions with a contemporary global vision.

A tribute to history through the art of dress

This collection is more than a visual tribute; it expresses the spirit of this mythical route, where travel becomes a symbol of sharing between cultures. Through “骧”, Sean Suen illustrates how wearable art can transcend borders and reinvent a universal heritage.
