Maison Alaïa settles in majesty in Paris’s Golden Triangle
Maison Alaïa, known for its timeless elegance and bold architecture, has inaugurated a new flagship store at 15, rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, an emblematic address of Parisian luxury. Facing Lanvin and not far from Hermès and Cartier, this 500 m² boutique offers Alaïa prime visibility on one of the world’s most prestigious thoroughfares.
An ambitious, visionary project
Named “Le 15 Faubourg”, this prestigious address marks the culmination of a dream byAzzedine Alaïa, who aspired to integrate this legendary street. The space was designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of the SANAA agency, in collaboration with Pieter Mulier, the house’s artistic director since 2021.
The minimalist, warm interior embodies Alaïa’s DNA around the concept of “second skin”, with soft, sculptural forms reminiscent of the brand’s emblematic creations. Four transparent tubular rooms, bathed in pink hues, present the collections in an intimate, enveloping atmosphere. Upstairs, a private lounge and mezzanine welcome visitors, with a Café Sant Ambroeus to extend the experience.
A tribute to design and art
Every detail of the boutique reflects an artistic sensibility. The décor incorporates design pieces such as a table by Ron Arad, Mollo armchairs by Philippe Malouin, and sculptures by Diamond Stingily. Soft materials, curved glass walls and a delicate palette of skin tones evoke the finesse of Alaïa’s creations.
A historic address transformed
Acquired by the Swiss group Richemont for 170 million euros in 2017, the 19th-century building required nearly three years of renovation. Formerly occupied by a Lanvin boutique, this site steeped in history is being reinvented to become an emblematic showcase for the Maison Alaïa.
