Chanel overtakes Louis Vuitton: Brand Finance 2025 rankings
The prestigious house of Chanel is set to become the world’s most valuable French brand in 2025, surpassing Louis Vuitton in Brand Finance’s annual report.
Each year, the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking assesses the value and strength of brands worldwide. For 2025, Chanel reaches 46ᵉ position, recording a value of almost $38 billion, up significantly on 2024. By contrast, Louis Vuitton, the former French leader, falls to 55ᵉ place with a valuation of $33 billion. This marks a real shift in the landscape of French luxury brands.
A breakthrough for luxury brands
Hermès also makes a striking entry into the Top 100, reaching 98ᵉ place with a valuation approaching $20 billion. These performances testify to the global appeal of French houses, particularly in the face of increased competition in the luxury goods world.
Dior, another iconic figure, stands out as the 7ᵉ strongest brand in the world, with an impressive score of 93.5 out of 100 and a AAA+ rating. These results are a testament to the house’s strength and future potential.
Luxury and technology dominate
In addition to fashion brands, other sectors are strengthening their presence in this ranking dominated by technology companies. Mercedes-Benz, Tesla and Porsche represent the luxury automotive industry, while watch brands such as Rolex are making rapid progress thanks to innovative strategies.
