Rolls-Royce invests heavily to modernize its UK plant
After a solid 2024, Rolls-Royce announces a historic investment to expand and modernize its Goodwood plant. This project marks a turning point in the brand’s strategy, geared towards personalized luxury and electric vehicles.
An unprecedented expansion
Since its opening in 2003, the Goodwood plant in the south of the UK has never seen such massive investment. With an injection of 357 million euros, this iconic site, which houses the head office, design center and production plant, is gearing up to meet growing demand for custom-built and electric vehicles. The transformation includes the creation of new private offices reserved for an exclusive clientele, where customers will be able to personalize their car with a dedicated designer.
Towards 100% electric generation
As part of its shift towards electric vehicles, Rolls-Royce plans to revamp its facilities to integrate more battery systems. This decision is based on the success of the Spectre electric model, which became the most popular vehicle in Europe and the second most popular worldwide in 2024. In 2025, the brand will unveil a new electric car, marking a key step towards an all-electric range.
Solid performance despite a slowdown
Rolls-Royce delivered 5,712 cars in 2024, a slight decline of 5% on 2023. Despite this, results remain among the best ever recorded, with record sales in regions such as the Middle East, Europe and Asia-Pacific. North America, however, remains the brand’s main market.
According to Chris Brownridge, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, this investment testifies to the company’s financial health and confidence in its growth plans.
