German fashion group Hugo Boss turns to sustainable luxury with the creation of Eightyards, a company dedicated to recycling and reusing surplus materials.

An eco-responsible initiative

Hugo Boss has taken a major step forward in its sustainable strategy with the launch ofEightyards, an independent company responsible for recycling surplus materials generated by its flagship brands, HUGO and BOSS. This ambitious project is part of an ecological and economic drive to reduce waste and promote environmentally-friendly processes.

Headed by Marketa Miltenberger and Placido Klitzke, executives from within the Group, Eightyards officially starts operations in January 2025. This initiative is in line with the Group’s goal of producing 80% circular clothing by 2030, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable fashion.

An inspiring model

The Eightyards concept echoes similar initiatives, such as LVMH Group’s Nona Source, which already collaborates with brands such as Monoprix Atelier and Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche. Through Eightyards, Hugo Boss also hopes to explore partnerships beyond the fashion sector, touching on other industries where recycled materials can play a crucial role.

By promoting the recycling of surplus textiles, Hugo Boss is responding to consumers’ growing expectations for ethical fashion.
