MM6 Maison Margiela: first all-men’s show
MM6 Maison Margiela makes history by presenting its first exclusively men’s show at Pitti Uomo, Florence’s prestigious menswear fair, today.
An evolution in the history of MM6
Since its creation in 1997 by Martin Margiela, the MM6 line has been distinguished by its irreverent, androgynous approach. Although the men’s line was officially launched in 2022, until now it was integrated into the mixed-gender shows. This edition of Pitti Uomo, which runs from January 14 to 17, offers MM6 the opportunity to devote itself entirely to men, while remaining true to its gender-neutral DNA.
A tribute to the 1990s and functionality
Inspired by the iconic white paint collection of 1997, this Florentine presentation revisits the men’s wardrobe in all its diversity. The creative studio drew on a variety of references, from the distinctive style of musician Miles Davis to the performances of Charles Atlas, to design a collection in which each piece is associated with a specific function.
The show, to be held in the greenhouse of the Tepidarium del Roster, will mix a few women’s silhouettes with the men’s line, illustrating MM6 Maison Margiela’s fluid and inclusive approach. This mix highlights the importance of an individual perception of fashion, where style and personal identity take precedence over traditional genders.
A strong vision for Pitti Uomo
A special guest at this winter’s edition of Pitti Uomo, MM6 Maison Margiela joins a tradition that celebrates menswear as a universe in its own right. The show also highlights the evolution of the brand, which continues to push back the boundaries of design while establishing itself as a key player in contemporary fashion.
