A century-old history, an unrivalled gastronomic heritage
The establishment is a Parisian institution that has stood the test of time. Founded at the end of the 19th century, it has never lost its essence. Its Belle Époque wood panelling tells the story of a district brought to life by Les Halles, once dubbed the “Golden Triangle” of gourmands. From its beginnings as a foie gras importer, it is now a temple to homemade dishes. Thanks to the work of Dominique Loï and, for several years now, her daughters Lucie and Fanny, the tradition continues.
With passion, they perpetuate their father’s values by developing exceptional artisanal products. Each recipe is conceived and prepared in the laboratory beneath the boutique. This guarantees impeccable quality and perfect process control.
Home-made products: a guarantee of quality
Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie makes a point of offering, all year round, products made on site, with care and respect for French culinary traditions (Recognized by the Collège Culinaire de France). Highlights include fine charcuterie made on site (saucissons lyonnais, boudins blancs, Pâtés en Croûte…); homemade foies gras, made from free-range ducks. They are available in a range of formats and flavors, from plain mi-cuit to truffled. Rare in Paris, the fish is smoked in-house. Each Label Rouge Scottish salmon is raised, boned and sliced by hand.

The title of Maître Restaurateur, held by the establishment, attests to the excellence of the preparations and the importance attached to the traceability and seasonality of ingredients.

A birthday not to be missed
In 2024, Comptoir de la Gastronomie celebrated its 130th anniversary. This was an opportunity to bring together loyal customers, suppliers and producers for an anniversary evening, culminating in the release of an ultra-limited edition commemorative poster, a tribute to the rich history and expertise of this emblematic establishment.
