Foie Gras Luxe: a Parisian tradition at the service of gastronomy
Located in the heart of Paris, this address perpetuates a family tradition that goes back three generations of charcutiers. Since 1946, Foie Gras Luxe has embodied the art of culinary refinement, thanks to its craftsmanship and meticulous selection.
From great-grandfather
The adventure of Foie Gras Luxe began in post-war Paris, when the capital was recovering and rediscovering the pleasures of the table. Raphaël Vigneau, a visionary craftsman, decided to devote himself to a rare and precious product: foie gras. His first terrines, prepared in his Left Bank “Vigneau-Desmarest” boutique, laid the foundations for an authentic gastronomic tradition.
Raphaël Vigneau soon felt the need to control the entire production chain. He turned to producers in Périgord and Alsace to select the best raw foie gras. This pioneering approach led him to become one of the leading foie gras wholesalers at Les Halles de Paris, supplying gastronomy professionals with products of unrivalled quality.
In 1948, Foie Gras Luxe moved to a larger store on rue Montmartre. It quickly became a must for lovers of exceptional products, expanding its range to include local specialties such as Bayonne ham and Aube sauerkraut.
End-to-end production control
The secret of the exceptional quality of Foie Gras Luxe products lies in total control of the production chain. Every stage, from duck rearing to liver processing, is carried out with meticulous attention to detail. The ducks, raised in the open air and fed on corn produced directly on site, benefit from optimal conditions that guarantee uncompromising taste quality.
This reasoned, animal-friendly approach reflects the company’s core values. The entire process, from breeding to preparation of the dishes, is designed to preserve the authenticity and flavor of the products.
A luxury grocery store
Foie Gras Luxe does not limit itself to foie gras. The house offers a varied selection of local products, all chosen with the same care. Among the must-tries is wild Norwegian salmon, which has been seducing Parisian gourmets since the 1950s. You’ll also find mushrooms, truffles, black garlic, tarama and ham. You’ll find everything you need for a meal with friends, even wines and spirits to accompany these gourmet products. This concern for diversification, without ever abandoning artisanal values, has enabled the company to weather the decades while retaining its prestige.
Foie gras, the company’s flagship product, comes in a multitude of preparations, from classic terrines to more daring creations. Each recipe is the fruit of know-how handed down from generation to generation, enriched by innovations that respect tradition.
An emblematic address in old Paris
Located in a district steeped in history, Foie Gras Luxe embodies the timeless charm of old Paris. Its unadulterated decor and warm welcome make it a favorite with food lovers. Customers come not only for the products, but also for the experience, guided by the expertise of Tony, an employee for over 30 years (practically a member of the Vigneau family).
With its strong values of authenticity, quality and respect for tradition, Foie Gras Luxe has become an ambassador for French art de vivre.
After more than 75 years, Foie Gras Luxe continues to seduce discerning palates. Whether for a special occasion or to celebrate the simple pleasures of the table, Foie Gras Luxe remains an essential reference in the Parisian culinary world, from generation to generation of customers.
