Hôtel Balzac, nestled a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, embodies the essence of Parisian elegance. This five-star hotel, far from ostentatious luxury, offers an intimate refuge from the glitz and glamour of the past.

Located on rue Balzac, formerly avenue Fortunée, it occupies a site steeped in history. It was once the residence of the writer Honoré de Balzac, a central figure in French literature. The writer, described by Victor Hugo as a genius, had a passionate romance with Madame Hanska.

An intimate refuge

The Hôtel Balzac is distinguished by its warm, discreet ambience. Its 58 rooms and suites, some with views of the Eiffel Tower, offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle outside. The two suites with private terraces offer a breathtaking view of Paris. The design concept, signed by the Festen design duo, combines sobriety and exceptional materials. Harmony between classic heritage and modernity.

The Festen duo designed the decor

The interior design features neutral tones and minimalist lines. Noble materials such as wood, stone and velvet are combined in a palette of brown and cognac colors. The Festen duo, Charlotte de Tonnac and Hugo Sauzay, drew inspiration from the hotel’s history and architectural elements to design a space where every detail is designed for absolute comfort. Their approach also favors working with local craftsmen and using recycled materials.

Balzacian art of living

The glass-roofed lounge and bar offer exclusive relaxation areas. The bar, with its chic speakeasy style, welcomes Parisians and travelers alike with inspired cocktails and refined specialties such as Petrossian caviar and lobster roll. Adjacent to the hotel, the culinary experience culminates in the Michelin-starred Pierre Gagnaire restaurant. Gastronomic excellence blends with authentic French flavors. Dinner completes the remarkable experience of staying at the Hotel Balzac.
