Idées Japon 2024: immerse yourself in Japanese craftsmanship
From November 20 to 23, 2024, Espace Cinko will be hosting the Idées Japon trade show in Paris, a unique market where Japanese crafts and culture come together for unforgettable Christmas gifts!
Just a stone’s throw from the Opéra, in the Passage Choiseul, Salon Idées Japon invites fans of Japanese culture to explore original and authentic creations, imagined by over 40 Franco-Japanese designers and craftsmen. Organized by the Jipango association, this atypical 300 m² Christmas market offers visitors a complete immersion in the Japanese art of living.

Salon Idées Japon offers an incredible variety of objects and creations inspired by Japanese culture, perfect for original gift ideas. From calligraphy to traditional dolls, handcrafted jewelry, children’s kimonos and paper decorative items, this show is the perfect opportunity to discover the excellence of Japanese craftsmanship.
Food stalls also offer a glimpse of Japanese flavors: delicate pastries, tea, sake, spices and pottery are all on display, offering a complete palette for those wishing to indulge or indulge themselves.
Immersive workshops to discover Japanese art
In addition to the exhibition and sale, the show offers Japanese creation workshops open to all, but subject to prior registration (fee payable). These workshops enable participants to immerse themselves in traditional techniques, under the guidance of recognized specialists:
- Tenkoku: Japanese seal engraving, an age-old art presented by Miki Kubo.
- Origami: the art of paper folding, with Audrey Frénois.
- Ikebana: Japanese flower arrangement by Yuko Durand, to learn how to compose arrangements according to Japanese traditions.
- Manga drawing: manga workshop for drawing enthusiasts, led by Sana & Shizuka.
- Sumi-e: Chinese ink painting, workshop led by Liliane Borodine.
- Kokedama: a Japanese plant decoration technique proposed by Adrien Bénard.
- Tsumamizaiku: a craft technique for creating accessories, by Naoko Noguchi.
- Kogin-Zashi and Kumihimo embroidery: traditional embroidery and braiding techniques, with Akiyo Kajiwara.
- Serpent en tissu: an original workshop led by Kaoru Diop to learn how to create decorative objects from fabric.
- Fabric bag: sewing workshop led by Junko Fukuda.
- Cooking with koji: a culinary workshop with Hervé Durand, exploring the uses of koji, an essential ferment in Japanese gastronomy.
