For the first time, Bottega Veneta ventures into fine jewelry, with a collection launched in Venice under the direction of Matthieu Blazy. It’s fabulous.

Bottega Veneta takes another step forward with the launch of a fine jewelry collection, a landmark decision orchestrated by Matthieu Blazy, Creative Director since 2021. Unveiled in a 15th-century Venetian palazzo, the collection reflects a meticulous aesthetic and a high-precision approach to craftsmanship. Comprising fifteen pieces, it features sculptural creations such as drop earrings, oversized chain bracelets and rings adorned with thorny details. Says Matthieu Blazy: “At Bottega Veneta, we produce exceptional pieces in clothing and bags, because we have great craftsmen, so, I thought, why not jewelry?”

The collection is divided into four families: Drop, Catena, Primavera and Enlaced. Each piece, from 18-carat gold earrings to delicate rings, embodies a balance between modernity and artisan heritage. Inspired by the concept of “investment wear”, the house aims to create quality, long-lasting jewelry, perfect for those wishing to acquire pieces with a unique character. Blazy stresses the importance of selecting the right elements rather than multiplying pieces: “It’s never about the number of objects in a collection; what counts is having the right ones.” His creations marry clean design with a discreet touch of whimsy, reminiscent of Bottega Veneta’s signature.

Matthieu Blazy’s vision

Since his arrival at the head of Bottega Veneta, Matthieu Blazy has distinguished himself by his original approach and his taste for exceptional craftsmanship. For this jewelry collection, he collaborated with artisans from Vicenza, an Italian city renowned for its seven centuries of jewelry expertise. According to him, this collaboration allows him to explore new techniques while respecting traditions: “Craftsmen and passion, that’s why I’m in this business!” He works hand-in-hand with these experts to push every detail to the limit and make jewelry as unique as it is personal. This perfectionism is essential for the designer, who wants each piece to evoke strong emotions in those who wear them.

The concept of the collection is based on the fusion of different inspirations, from garlands of lights to everyday elements like the jasmine-covered trellises in her garden. The drop earrings reflect the art of subtle yet powerful design, while the rings and bracelets play on natural textures and shapes. Blazy often refers to his own journey through auction rooms and flea markets as a source of ideas, integrating this love of exceptional objects into every Bottega Veneta creation.

A Venetian setting for Bottega Veneta

To fully experience this new jewelry line, Bottega Veneta has chosen Venice as the launch location. Privileged customers are welcomed in a palace located near the famous Piazza San Marco, in the Cannaregio district. The venue offers total immersion in the brand’s universe, with modern furniture by George Nakashima and Jorge Zalszupin. Shelves display the house’s famous woven bags, while Blazy’s iconic leather garments, designed to imitate jeans, are also on display.

The jewelry collection is available in Bottega Veneta’s flagship boutiques around the world, but the exclusive Venice experience offers personalized service for discerning customers. This workshop is a space where artisans can truly give free rein to their creativity. As Matthieu Blazy explains, “Don’t do anything that doesn’t evoke emotion, it has to make your heart beat.”
