On April 29, 2025, Chanel will unveil its Cruise 2025-2026 collection in a picturesque setting: Lake Como, Italy.

This enchanting setting, prized by fashion houses, reflects the art of living à la Dolce Vita. Brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Dior and Elie Saab have already paraded here. Chanel is taking up residence here this time, after presenting its 2024-2025 cruise collection at the Cité radieuse art center in Marseille.

The Chanel cruise fashion show embodies an encounter between the creativity of the house and the unique energy of a place. Lake Como, with its lush gardens and sunny shores, is the ideal setting for this exceptional event.

Virginie Viard’s latest fashion show

The Marseille show, held earlier in the year, marked Virginie Viard’s last collection. She had taken over as head of Chanel after Karl Lagerfeld’s death in 2019, then left in June 2024. This absence of artistic direction at Chanel is creating strong expectations in the fashion world. To date, the house has not announced a successor.

The fashion world is in turmoil, and the designer market is in upheaval. Hedi Slimane’s departure from Celine and Filippo Grazioli’s farewell to Missoni are fuelling speculation. According to some sources, designers such as Maria Grazia Chiuri and Jonathan Anderson could also be leaving their positions at Dior and Loewe respectively.

With so much talent available, Chanel could surprise everyone by naming a new artistic director between now and the Lake Como show.
