Paris Fashion Week: the Grand Palais hosts the Chanel show

After a 4-year absence due to renovation work, Chanel announces its return to the Grand Palais in Paris to present its Spring-Summer 2025 collection.

October 1 marks not only the official reopening of the Grand Palais, but also the resumption of a tradition that has seen Chanel fashion shows transform this monument into a veritable theater of fashion. Since 2005, Chanel has transformed the Grand Palais into a dream setting, with spectacular stagings such as a giant supermarket or a replica of the Verdon gorges, under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld. Restoration work, begun in 2018, has profoundly altered the building, making this return particularly eagerly awaited.

Chanel ‘s return to the Grand Palais coincides with a new phase of patronage for the company, which has pledged to support the Grand Palais with a contribution of 30 million euros over five years. This decision reinforces Chanel’s role as a patron of culture and marks continuity in its support for the venue’s artistic programming . The building, which recently underwent a major renovation comparable to that of Notre-Dame, has been fully restored and modernized, providing the perfect backdrop for upcoming shows.

Didier Fusillier, President of the Grand Palais, describes the reopening as a renaissance. Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel’s fashion activities, stresses the importance of maintaining the audacity of the stagings while honoring the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld. This partnership promises to revitalize the Grand Palais, with a diverse cultural program including events such asArt Basel Paris andan exhibition by Chiharu Shiota, while reinforcing Chanel’s place in the Paris cultural landscape.
