The Restaurant du Musée d’Orsay: a gourmet renaissance

One of the capital’s most majestic historic monuments, the Restaurant du Musée d’Orsay unveils a new version of itself, combining heritage splendor with contemporary elegance.

Housed in the former Gare d’Orsay, now a temple to Impressionism, the museum’s restaurant is an architectural gem in its own right. Monumental frescoes by Gabriel Ferrier and Benjamin Constant, dazzling gilding, imposing chandeliers: every element recalls the grandeur of the Belle Époque. And yet, in April 2025, visitors discover an entirely new atmosphere.

A listed setting, boldly redesigned

The ambitious renovation project, carried out by MP&C Réalisations (Denis Paszkiewick and Claire Tournier), did more than simply refresh the building. The aim? To respect the artistic identity of the site while opening it up to a contemporary interpretation. Colors harmonized with the central ceiling medallion, bespoke furniture, refined banquettes and champagne shades with satin she en: the whole distils a feeling of hushed modernity. Special mention must go to the Jacopo Foggini chairs, veritable works of art inspired by the monumental works of art that overlook the room.

A culinary experience by Yann Landureau

In the kitchen, chef Yann Landureau infuses his talent into a menu that celebrates French tradition with precision and subtlety. Seasonal products, artistic inspirations drawn from the museum’s temporary exhibitions, elegant dishes and accessible menus: here, art continues on the plate.

The 39€ lunch menu, including starter/main course or main course/dessert (with complimentary hot beverage), appeals to visitors in a hurry as well as discerning gourmets. For children, a €12 menu features the famous Coupe de Glace. And for afternoon epicureans, generous profiteroles and lemon meringue pie are the perfect accompaniment to creamy hot chocolate.

Pleasure that lasts until late

On Thursday evenings, the restaurant takes on a different light. As Paris lights up at sunset, diners take on the air of a confidential Parisian evening. A refined menu, a subdued ambience and the possibility of enjoying a cocktail at the bar, a new feature of the place, complete this sensory experience. Far from being just another museum restaurant, this is a gastronomic destination in its own right.

The Musiam Paris spirit

This revival is in line with the philosophy of Musiam Paris, a benchmark catering operator for cultural sites. Backed by its links with DUCASSE Paris and the WSH group, Musiam defends an artisanal vision of cuisine: rooted in the terroir, driven by taste, quality and authenticity.

Lunch at the Musée d’Orsay? More than just a meal, an immersion in the Paris of the arts, taste and rediscovered elegance.
