Miley Cyrus brings Mugler and Gaultier to life in her new visual album

What if the next fashion masterpiece came not from a catwalk… but from a music video? With Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus turns the release of her ninth album into a couture-intensive aesthetic manifesto.

A project at the crossroads of fashion and cinema

Announced for release on May 30, 2025, Something Beautiful has already established itself as a hybrid album: 13 original tracks, accompanied by a visual project orchestrated by Miley herself, with the help of Jacob Bixenman, Brendan Walter and cinematographer Benoît Debie. But what’s most striking is the project’s stylistic ambition.

According to Bradley Kenneth, her loyal stylist, Miley doesn’t just wear clothes: “She gives them new life”. Each look was conceived during the recording phase, in coherence with the album’s musical atmospheres. The result is a wardrobe that has become a living archive.

Rare, precious… and powerful pieces

At the heart of it all: the Thierry Mugler archives, from which Miley is said to have received “the largest collection ever sent to a single person”, according to Bradley Kenneth. Among them, the famous Araignée dress from 1997, a theatrical piece from the Les Insectes collection. Fragility, tension, seduction – it’s all here.

The show also features creations by Jean Paul Gaultier, Bob Mackie and Alexander McQueen ( Savage Beauty period), in a setting inspired by the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A bold artistic direction, conceived as a vibrant tribute to the history of fashion, its excesses and its drama.

A new way to consume fashion?

Far from a simple exercise in style, the project embodies a radical vision: to revive fashion through another form of artistic expression. Each clip acts as an animated archive, in which Miley becomes a cultural mediator as much as a pop icon. A bold choice, confirming her status as a hybrid figure between music star and contemporary muse.
