Angèle becomes the new face of Chanel fragrance

Chanel has chosen Belgian singer Angèle to embody its new fragrance “Chance Eau Splendide”. A strategic and artistic choice.

An obvious meeting between Angèle and Chanel

This is not the first time Chanel and Angèle have collaborated. Since 2020, the Belgian singer has been one of the house’s fashion ambassadors. She has paraded, modeled and sung in Chanel. But this time, the house has entrusted her with a more intimate role: that of fragrance muse.

Angèle embodies a free, elegant, mischievous youth. A personality in tune with the DNA of Chance, first launched in 2002. The range, until now without an official face, finally welcomes an interpreter.

With her soft voice and pop aura, Angèle gives a new color to the fragrance. The choice seems natural, almost logical.

Chance Eau Splendide: a bold, fruity fragrance

Nose Olivier Polge, Chanel’s resident perfumer, has created a new variation on the classic Chance. This version, Eau Splendide, is part of a lighter, fruitier olfactory palette.

The fragrance opens with notes of raspberry and rose. A fresh, floral heart, carried by rose geranium. At the base, touches of white musk, iris and cedar add depth.

The fragrance is conceived as a breath of optimism. It captures a gentle energy, a kind of affirmed lightness. Exactly what Angèle represents for many.

A visual campaign that breaks the mould

Photographer Steven Meisel created a pastel campaign, bathed in lilac. Angèle appears in motion, her hair blowing in the wind, her eyes straight. No artifice. No seduction. Just presence.

The bottle takes up the codes of the Chance line. But its new violet hue underlines the desire for renewal. The graphic universe is clearly aimed at a younger, more connected, more spontaneous generation.

The campaign video, already circulating on Instagram and TikTok, surpassed one million views in less than 48 hours. A strong signal.

A strategy of generational conquest

In choosing Angèle, Chanel isn’t just looking for a muse. She’s aiming for a specific target: Generation Z. A generation that rejects clichés, wants effortless style and more fluid fragrances.

Angèle speaks this language. She even writes it to music. At 29, she embodies a freer form of femininity. Not rigid. Chanel is banking on this modernity to renew its audience.

It’s also a way of bringing fragrance closer to everyday use. Less solemnity, more freshness. An assertive positioning.

Release date and points of sale

Chance Eau Splendide will be released in France on April 15, 2025. It will be available in all Chanel boutiques, department stores and online.

The format remains true to the range: round bottle, elegant spray. No special box has yet been announced, but exclusives may follow in selected boutiques.
