École Ducasse Paris Studio: the art of gastronomy accessible to all
It’s often difficult for gastronomy enthusiasts to satisfy their desire to learn. Trusting an experienced chef, being sure of his or her know-how as well as his or her benevolence, ensuring that the level of the workshop is appropriate… so many worries that L’École Ducasse Paris Studio sweeps aside with a wave of excellence.
History and values
In addition to its prestigious schools for bachelors, retrainees and professionals (Paris Campus and the École Nationale Supérieure de Pâtisserie), Alain Ducasse has created the École Ducasse Paris Studio, aimed at amateurs and founded on the same principles of excellence, transmission and passion.
In May 2009, the school opened its doors in the 16th arrondissement of Paris with a clear ambition: to make gastronomy accessible. Its aim is to enable enthusiasts, whether beginners or experienced, to learn themed techniques and recipes in a pleasant setting. No cold laboratories with unobtainable tools. Instead, you’ll find “home-style” kitchens (just a little bigger to accommodate you), beautifully equipped with Miele and Scavolini appliances. For one of École Ducasse Paris Studio’s greatest promises is to be able to reproduce everything at home, with complete peace of mind.
To treat yourself to a workshop is to ensure a moment of sharing (so dear to the spirit of the house), an experience based on the philosophy of Alain Ducasse, a philosophy of life that respects nature and its seasons, with all the simplicity and elegance of French savoir-faire.
A timeless bubble
Located in Ranelagh, École Ducasse Paris Studio is divided into several distinct spaces, all designed by interior architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. The four kitchens, respectively named Piment, Cèpe, Olive and Truffe (to recall the strong link between naturalness and noble products from the earth); the wine-tasting cellar, whose table is elegantly mounted on a tree from Thailand; a meeting room and a covered terrace (air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter) where we taste our post-workshop creations.
How does a workshop at the École Ducasse Paris Studio work?
Our cooking and pastry workshops are designed to offer a complete, immersive and educational experience. For the morning workshops, you’ll be greeted by a breakfast prepared by our Chefs.
Once in front of our fully-equipped workstation, Le Chef presents the recipe to the participants, along with the techniques to be used. Throughout the workshop, he provides tips and tricks specific to Alain Ducasse’s cuisine. At the end, we all gather to enjoy the fruits of our labor in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Each guest leaves with printed recipe cards and a lovely souvenir gift.
A multitude of choices and possibilities
École Ducasse Paris Studio offers a wide range of workshops, suitable for all levels, even children! The worktops are removable and can be adjusted to the right height.
Among the fine offerings, you’ll discover cooking workshops, including the famous “Jus et sauces” or “Cuisine 3 étoiles”, pastry workshops and oenology workshops. Others are available entirely in English, thanks to the agility of international chefs École Ducasse Paris Studio.
Privatizations and customized events
École Ducasse Paris Studio also offers the possibility of privatizing its spaces for exclusive events: private cooking or pastry workshops, participatory cocktails, challenging workshops… all supervised by a professional chef. Team-building and corporate seminars, combining learning and team spirit. These experiences are fully customizable.
Affordable rates for a top-of-the-range experience
Workshop prices vary according to length and complexity. A two-hour workshop costs 109 euros, a half-day 195 euros and a full day 309 euros. For 3-star workshops, the evening is 159 euros. Oenological tastings cost between 109 and 129 euros.
Each price includes ingredients, equipment, chef accompaniment and tasting of the dishes.
Ecole Ducasse Paris Studio is a place where the spirit of “SHARING IS CARING” is written in capital letters, whether by the respect for the noble products used according to the season, the quality of the Chefs’ animation, or the sensation of a moment suspended in time. The magic happens between chefs and participants: everyone can join in, no previous level required. You can even treat a loved one to a Gift Voucher.
