Ferrari turns its circuit into a race track

When the roar of the engines gives way to the breath of the runners, the emotion is just as powerful. Ferrari has opened the doors of its fiefdom to a new kind of half-marathon.

On March 30, over 10,000 runners took to the mythical asphalt of the Maranello site for the first edition of the Mezza Maratona d’Italia – Memorial Enzo Ferrari. A symbolic event, conceived as a tribute to the late founder of the Prancing Horse brand.

The 21.0975-kilometer route took participants from the Ferrari museum, through the private circuit at Fiorano, then along the famous avenue that runs alongside the production plant, before crossing the finish line at Modena’s Palazzo Ducale. A rare and privileged way to go behind the scenes of this Italian icon, usually closed to the public.

To mark the occasion, each finalist was presented with a medal designed in the Ferrari workshops using additive manufacturing – a technology already used in Formula 1 and applied to the Ferrari F80 supercar.

Beyond the competition, the day was designed to be inclusive, with more accessible races of 5 and 10 km, not timed, as well as visits to the Ferrari exhibits, in order to federate a wider public around the brand’s values: performance, transmission, but also local commitment.

Ferrari was keen to anchor this operation in a social approach. Profits from the event will contribute to the creation of a multi-sports field in the Maranello Sports Park, planned for 2026.

A fine example of a successful brand experience, where sport, memory and territory meet under the seal of prestige.
