JEMA 2025: a Parisian venue where silversmithing comes back to life

What if sterling silver told you more than you expected? On the occasion of JEMA, Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art 2025, the Camille Orfèvre workshop in the 3rd arrondissement invites you to discover a skill as ancient as it is fragile: traditional goldsmithing.
A sparkling rendezvous in the heart of Paris
On the weekend of April 5 and 6, 2025, as part of JEMA, the public is invited to attend free live demonstrations of planishing, chasing, metal embossing and knife assembly. These precise gestures, rarely seen elsewhere, transform a simple sheet of silver into an objet d’art.
The highlight of the program? The free restoration of a solid silver timbale (one per visitor, under certain conditions). A rare, almost confidential gesture, offered in a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Camille Gras: a goldsmith against the grain
Trained between Florence, Paris and the United States, Camille Gras perpetuates the forgotten heritage of the great masters of silversmithing. In his workshop steeped in history, century-old tools rub shoulders with orders from the most demanding luxury houses. Here, each piece is repaired, chiselled and brought back to life.
But beyond the gesture, it’s an artisanal philosophy that Camille defends: slowness, rigor, excellence. A posture that stands out in an increasingly industrialized world of luxury.
