The Ministry of Culture relaunches its call for fashion projects for 2025

The French Ministry of Culture has renewed its support program for young fashion brands and artisans. It is launching a new call for projects for 2025. A key initiative, despite a reduced budget.

Essential support for designers

Since 2018, the French Ministry of Culture has been running a Fashion Call for Projects. This call is designed to support young talent in the sector. For this 8th edition, the allocated budget is 300,000 euros. This is down from 400,000 euros in 2024. As a result, only 15 winners will be selected this year, compared with 20 last year.

Applications are open until April 20, 2025, and must be submitted online via the Ministry’s official website.

Two categories of winners

Unlike previous editions, when a single call for projects was launched, this year’s initiative is divided into two distinct areas. ” Fashion and Accessories”: aimed at ten emerging brands, each of which will receive a grant of 20,000 euros to develop their image and invest in equipment (machines, software, digital content, etc.). ” Métiers d’Art de la Mode”: five companies specializing in exceptional know-how will also receive 20,000 euros each to acquire equipment or strengthen their communications.

Conditions of eligibility

To be considered, companies must: be domiciled in France. operate in the textile, sewing, leather, jewelry, watchmaking, leather goods or footwear sectors. Be created before December 31, 2022. Have annual sales of between €30,000 and €1 million between 2022 and 2024.

Selected projects should contribute to digital transformation, the development of sustainable fashion or research and innovation.

A challenge for French fashion

With this Call for Fashion 2025 Projects, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to supporting design, promoting French know-how and encouraging relocation in France and Europe. In seven years, 135 winners have benefited from this program, including up-and-coming designers such as Jeanne Friot, Valette Studio, Victor Weinsanto and Alphonse Maitrepierre.

This system is a strategic lever for emerging talent, guaranteeing French fashion international influence and sustainability.
