Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann showcases African fashion

From June 18 to July 8, 2025, African fashion takes over Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, thanks to the “Canex presents Africa” initiative, in collaboration with Tranoï. An unmissable fashion event!
A special edition to celebrate African creativity
For the past six seasons, the Tranoï trade show has dedicated a space to African fashion. This year, in partnership with Canex (a program launched by Afreximbank in 2020), it takes up residence in the heart of Galeries Lafayette, the temple of Parisian shopping. This iconic department store on Boulevard Haussmann (9ᵉ arrondissement) will spotlight emerging African designers, confirming its role as an international springboard for talent from around the world.
The event will take place on the third floor of the main building, where a specially designed space will host four exceptional designers.
Promising talents in the spotlight
This 2025 edition features a selection of top designers from a variety of backgrounds:
- Boyedoye (Ghana) – Finalist for the LVMH 2025 prize, a recognition that testifies to the growing influence of African fashion on the world stage.
- Late for Work (Morocco) – A brand headed by Youssef Drissi, offering an avant-garde vision of Casablanca style.
- We Are Nbo (Kenya) – A label of handcrafted jewelry, fusing tradition and modernity.
- Wuman (Nigeria) – Founded by Ekwerike Chukwuma, this label embodies innovation and contemporary African aesthetics.
These designers benefit from unique visibility among fashion enthusiasts, international buyers and specialized media.
An economic and cultural ambition
More than just an exhibition, this event highlights a crucial issue: the integration of African fashion into the global economy. As Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice-President of Afreximbank, points out:
“We believe that the continent’s vast pool of creative talent is an opportunity to accelerate Africa’s economic transformation.”
The Canex program aims to structure and monetize the African creative sector, while promoting its integration into the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
