Getaway near Paris, two addresses in Deauville

From April 5, Deauville is back to its summertime hustle and bustle with the reopening of Ciro’s and Bar de la Mer. These two legendary addresses on the Planches promise a unique gastronomic experience overlooking the sea, a blend of tradition and renewal.

Ciro’s: timeless elegance at the service of the sea

A Deauville institution since 1959, Ciro’s has welcomed iconic personalities from Elizabeth Taylor to Johnny Depp, not to mention the G8 heads of state in 2011. Freshly redesigned by the Friedmann and Versace agency, the place retains its soul while adopting a contemporary design inspired by boat cabins.

Headed by chef Adrien Brunet, who has worked at the Saint-James in Paris and the Crillon le Brave, he sublimates seafood with a refined menu. Bouillabaisse with lobster and sole meunière prepared at the table offer a culinary spectacle, while seafood platters celebrate the richness of the Normandy coastline. To end on a sweet note, pastry chef Thomas Philippe‘s creation of a chocolate and raspberry ice cream bar celebrates 100 years of Les Planches.

Le Bar de la Mer: a relaxed gourmet stopover

Just a stone’s throw from Ciro’s, the Bar de la Mer is Deauville’s most cheerful and convivial interlude. With its 190-seat terrace, private deckchairs and kids’ club, it embodies the vacation spirit. The menu features generous, iodized cuisine: linguine with vongole, lobster roll, mussels in a variety of recipes and an array of gourmet desserts.
