The Zimmermann show inspired by “Picnic at Hanging Rock”.

Australian fashion house Zimmermann revisits Victorian aesthetics and wilderness for a bewitchingly charming Fall-Winter 2025-26 collection.
With its new “Hypnotic” collection, Zimmermann plunges into a mysterious, poetic universe, echoing the cult Australian film Picnic at Hanging Rock, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Dramatic silhouettes, wispy lace and natural tones combine to give life to an inspired wardrobe of timeless elegance and spellbinding ambience.
A journey of dreams and mystery
Zimmermann is not content with an aesthetic homage: the collection follows the narrative progression of the film, beginning on an airy, carefree note before sinking into a darker atmosphere. Diaphanous chiffon, wispy organza and floral prints convey this fragile balance between grace and anxiety.
Soft shades of cream and peach recall the golden light of Australian landscapes, while serpentine patterns and earthy tones evoke the wilderness. Victorian details, crocheted lace and smocking reinforce this nostalgic aesthetic, subtly modernized by structured denim and rugged outdoor pieces.
An increase in intensity
As the show progresses, the mood takes on a palpable tension: colors darken with deep moss greens and midnight blues, while voluminous leather jackets and draped velvet add dramatic density. Capes in lace and ghostly floral embroidery play with light and shadow, accentuating the collection’s hypnotic effect.
Between vaporous elegance and unsettling strangeness, Zimmermann has created a collection where beauty is tinged with mystery. A waking dream that captivates and fascinates, leaving an indelible imprint on the season to come.
