Carven: Mark Thomas takes over after Louise Trotter
Following the departure of Louise Trotter, Carven appoints Mark Thomas as Design Director. A strategic choice to ensure the brand’s continuity.
Carven turns a new page with the appointment of Mark Thomas as Design Director. Formerly Louise Trotter‘s right-hand man, he takes charge of collections and will unveil his first line for the brand at Fashion Week in September 2025.
An in-house choice to ensure continuity
Mark Thomas has been with Carven since 2023 as senior designer, and already knows the house’s DNA inside out. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, he forged his experience at Givenchy, Joseph and Helmut Lang, before joining Lacoste as director of men’s design. His career then took him to Carven, where he worked alongside Louise Trotter, whom he now replaces.
With this appointment, Carven is banking on stability, an essential strategy for a house that has experienced several upheavals in recent years, including a court-ordered liquidation in 2018 before being acquired by the Chinese group ICCF.
A future of renewal
Under Louise Trotter‘s direction, Carven had initiated a stylistic renewal that won over the critics. Mark Thomas will now have to continue this momentum, while infusing his own creative vision.
While details of his first collection are still unknown, expectations are high. What’s at stake for Carven? To re-establish itself on the Parisian scene and consolidate its identity.
