Montblanc celebrates Enzo Ferrari
Montblanc and Ferrari combine their expertise for an exceptional tribute. With the new edition of the Great Characters collection, the German company unveils a fountain pen in tribute to Enzo Ferrari, a collector’s item that embodies both racing engineering and craftsmanship excellence.
A tribute to the Scuderia visionary
Enzo Ferrari, an emblematic figure in the world of automobiles, is celebrating his legacy with an exceptional writing instrument. This special edition, named Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Édition Spéciale Giallo Modena, features a bright yellow hue, in reference to the historic color of Modena, the birthplace of Ferrari’s founder.
The pen’s design is directly inspired by the legendary Ferrari 500, the first car to win a Formula 1 World Championship title for Scuderia Ferrari in 1952. Every detail evokes the world of speed, passion and mechanical precision, values dear to Ferrari.
An art object of meticulous detail
Montblanc takes refinement to the extreme by integrating highly symbolic elements. The prancing horse logo, accompanied by the famous quote from Countess Paolina di Biancoli: “Le porterà fortuna” (It will bring you luck). Another quotation engraved on the clip of the pen, signed by Enzo Ferrari himself: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it.” Engraved lines recall Ferrari’s air vents, while the six striations on each side symbolize the brand’s emblematic V12 engine. The solid 14-carat gold nib is embossed with the steering wheel of the Ferrari 250 GTO, with the inscription “Pilota”, one of Enzo Ferrari’s nicknames.
Finally, the top ring of the cap is engraved with “Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari”, a nod to the founder’s first workshop and his family heritage.
A collector’s item for enthusiasts
This creation is accompanied by a Giallo Modena leather notebook, further enhancing the exclusivity and elegance of this collection. Montblanc proves once again that luxury craftsmanship can sublimate the history of great men. It transforms a simple pen into a truly exceptional piece.
