The Grand Rex crowned the world’s most beautiful cinema!

The Grand Rex, the famous Parisian cinema and jewel of the Art Deco period, has just been named the most beautiful cinema in the world by Time Out. A great achievement for this emblematic venue of the 7th art.

A prestigious distinction for the Grand Rex

After electing Belleville as one of the world’s coolest neighborhoods, Time Out has once again put Paris in the spotlight by ranking the Grand Rex as one of the world’s most beautiful cinemas. It’s not the first time the building has attracted attention: five years ago, it already occupied second place in the same ranking. Since then, a major renovation has made the building even more beautiful, enabling it to take that coveted top spot.

With its imposing architecture designed by Auguste Bluysen, this legendary cinema, almost a century old, has preserved its charm while modernizing. Its famous Art Deco facade and majestic Great Hall have largely contributed to its international recognition.

A pillar of Paris cinema

The Grand Rex is distinguished not only by its architecture. It plays a major role in promoting the 7th art, offering a rich program of previews, retrospectives and theme evenings, all of which enhance its aura and make it a veritable temple of cinema.

Other Parisian cinemas also feature in this ranking: Le Champo and Studio 28, two independent cinemas with undeniable charm.
