A season 4 for The White Lotus?
Since its launch in 2021, The White Lotus has become one of the most acclaimed series on the TV landscape. With its biting critique of the wealthy elite, Mike White’s creation transports viewers to paradisiacal destinations, transformed into theaters of human dramas as absurd as they are fascinating.
After Hawaii and Italy, the third season, filmed in Thailand, is now airing, but one question is already burning on fans’ lips: will there be a season 4?
A critical and public success
With its unique blend of social satire, dramatic tension and dark humor, The White Lotus has captivated a wide audience. The series racked up prestigious awards, including: 20 Emmy Award nominations for the first season, including 10 wins. As well as the Golden Globe for Best Series and an award for Jennifer Coolidge, whose performance left a lasting impression.
Each season tackles a different theme: wealth and its abuses in the first, sex and power relations in the second, and now religion and spirituality in the third. The third season, shot in iconic locations such as Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok, once again takes place in a Four Seasons hotel, a luxurious and oppressive setting.
Season 4 officially confirmed for The White Lotus
Despite a production delay caused by the Writers Guild of America strike in 2023, HBO confirmed on January 23, 2025 that a fourth season of The White Lotus is indeed in the works. No information has yet been revealed as to its plot, casting or shooting location, but the series’ success leaves little doubt as to its triumphant return.
