Lady Gaga and Beyoncé: a sequel to “Telephone”?

Almost 15 years after the explosive video for Telephone, Lady Gaga is finally talking about the possibility of a long-awaited sequel.
A teaser that sets the web alight
Released in 2010, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé ‘s Telephone has become a pop benchmark, now racking up 485 million views on YouTube. With its supercharged aesthetic and suspenseful scenario, the clip ended with an enigmatic “To be continued”.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Lady Gaga, subjected to a lie detector test, dropped a bombshell: “Yes”, a sequel is possible. But when it came to confirming Beyoncé’s participation, the singer remained more vague, simply mentioning a “maybe”, without incriminating scheduling conflicts.
A treasure hunt that intrigues fans
Rumors have been growing ever since the release of Beyoncé‘s Texas Hold’em video, directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and unveiled on February 11, 2024. A date that corresponds precisely to Lady Gaga’s fictional incarceration in Telephone in 2010.
Another disturbing detail: Beyoncé appears at the wheel of a retro cab, recalling a cult scene from the pop duo. This coincidence fuels speculation about a possible visual and narrative crossover between the two universes.
Lady Gaga’s hit that left its mark on the industry
With its prison scenes, studded leather outfits and western-BDSM ambience, Telephone made a lasting impression. The clip featured Gaga and Beyoncé as fugitives, concluding with a spectacular escape after a series of choreographed murders.
The final “To be continued” remained an unfulfilled promise… until now? While nothing is yet official, fans are more alert than ever. The iconic duo could well be back on the road together. To be continued.
