Balzac Beauté: how does the first collection measure up?

After conquering responsible fashion, Balzac Paris unveils its very first make-up line: Balzac Beauté. A minimalist, hybrid collection combining skincare and make-up. Read on.
A new stage for Balzac Paris
Known for its commitment to ethical, timeless fashion, the Balzac Paris brand is expanding its universe with a make-up range. Called Balzac Beauté (B.B.), this first collection will be available from February 16. A significant step for the label founded by Chrysoline de Gastines, Victorien de Gastines and Charles Fourmaux, who had already tested the cosmetics universe with the Honorine perfume and its skincare variations.
A five-product express routine
Balzac Paris offers five essentials covering complexion, eyes and lips, designed for quick and effective make-up:
- A tinted serum (97% natural ingredients), formulated with red algae for an immediate healthy-glow effect andhyaluronic acid to moisturize and plump skin.
- A 3-in-1 powder, combining bronzer, blush and highlighter, enriched with cocoa butter, an alternative to talcum powder.
- A mascara and fixative care duo designed to strengthen and style lashes.
- Two refillable tinted balms, offering adjustable color intensity and optimal moisturization.
Made in France for the serum and in Italy for the rest of the range, this collection is priced between 30 and 45 euros. An affordable price for make-up that’s practical, clean and elegant.
Design true to Balzac Paris DNA
The visual identity of the collection remains faithful to the house’s codes. Gone is the leopard motif; this time, stripes take over, sporting a sober, sophisticated olive green. Each product carries a new logo dedicated to Balzac Beauté, reinforcing its premium, minimalist positioning.
Effective hybrid make-up?
The user experience looks promising. The tinted serum seduces with its orange blossom fragrance, light texture and natural effect. It penetrates quickly without sticking, and can be used pure or mixed with a moisturizer for an even complexion.
The eye duo is practical and innovative, although its fixative is better suited to light lashes than dark ones. As for the 3-in-1 palette, it offers intuitive application and a luminous finish. Last but not least, the tinted balms should win you over with their intense hydration and adaptable rendering.
A successful bet?
With this first foray into make-up, Balzac Paris is banking on a clean, multifunctional range designed for women in a hurry. Without revolutionizing the industry, the brand has made a successful entry with products that are well-designed, easy to use and true to its commitment to responsibility.
