Ciné-Mailles: the Parisian ciné-club that combines knitting and cinema!

Knitting and cinema lovers, no need to choose anymore with Ciné-Mailles! The Studio des Ursulines, in the 5ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, offers sessions where you can handle needles and balls of yarn while enjoying a good film. A unique and convivial experience!

An original concept for knitting enthusiasts

For some, knitting is a passion that follows them everywhere. Whether on the move, at the café or even chatting with friends. If you’re one of those people who can’t stop knitting whenever they have a moment, the Ciné-Mailles ciné-club is for you!

In this unique darkroom, you won’t get a sideways glance if you take out your needles. Quite the contrary! Here, knitting while watching a film is not only permitted, it’s encouraged.

Studio des Ursulines opens its doors to knitters

Ciné-Mailles is an initiative of Club Crochet Tricot Paris, in partnership with Studio des Ursulines. Each month, a new screening is offered to knitting enthusiasts. Appropriate lighting is provided to avoid stitch errors, and the films are shown in French so you don’t miss the story. Purists of the original subtitled version are not forgotten: a VOST session is also on the program.

Recent releases include classics such as Shrek, The Voyage of Chihiro and Mr. Jack’s Strange Christmas. This month, Greta Gerwig’s The Daughters of Doctor March opens on February 26, 27 and 28, 2025.
