Rolls-Royce launches a bespoke fragrance for its cars

British automaker Rolls-Royce innovates by offering a unique olfactory experience on board its vehicles. The Phantom inaugurates this new sensory approach with an exclusive fragrance.

A multi-sensory experience at Rolls-Royce

Known for its obsession with luxury and detail, the brand adds a new dimension to the driving experience with Rolls-Royce Scent, an automotive fragrance concept specially designed for its iconic models.

During the manufacture of each vehicle, a department specializing in biochemistry and perfumery is already involved in choosing the materials that influence the natural scents of the interior. Now, thanks to a patented olfactory diffusion system, Rolls-Royce enhances these aromas by integrating exclusive fragrances into its cars.

“The interior of a Rolls-Royce is a unique space, designed to offer an unrivalled multi-sensory experience. With our new fragrance concept, we’re reaching a new dimension of luxury,” explains Martina Starke, Director of Bespoke Design.

A first fragrance for the Phantom by Rolls-Royce

The first model to benefit from this innovation is the iconic Phantom, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. For this exceptional sedan, the brand has created a sophisticated fragrance combining cedarwood, rosewood, iris and amyris.

Before validating this scent, thirty variations were tested, guaranteeing subtle, elegant diffusion in the passenger compartment.

The luxury automobile, a global sensory universe

The British brand is not the only manufacturer to explore these new experiences. Jaguar Land Rover is also working on olfactory and sensory innovations for its future vehicles.
