A triumphant return to the catwalk
On Friday, February 7, 2025, Calvin Klein marks its return to New York Fashion Week after a six-year absence. The brand, which hasn’t shown since the Spring/Summer 2018 season, returns with renewed energy under the direction of Veronica Leoni. This Italian designer, a finalist for the LVMH Prize in 2023, is known for her minimalist, structured approach, influenced by her experiences at Celine, The Row and Moncler.
The Autumn-Winter 2025-2026 show officially opens New York Fashion Week, attracting an array of stars and influential industry figures. Among them Alexander Skarsgård, Bad Bunny and historic brand muses such as Christy Turlington and Kate Moss.
Veronica Leoni breathes new life into her work
Appointed in May 2024, Veronica Leoni took just a few months to make Calvin Klein‘s DNA her own. With a background in prestigious fashion houses, her first collection was a modern, uncluttered vision that paid homage to the brand’s roots.
The show unveiled a ’90s-inspired wardrobe, with a sophisticated office wear aesthetic. Slip dresses, flowing satin and precise cuts were featured, in sober shades of gray, ecru, black and brown. An ode to minimalism, reminiscent of Raf Simons ‘ flagship collections of the late 2010s, while infusing a new modernity.
A strategic turning point for Calvin Klein
This return to the catwalk marks an essential transition for the brand, which in recent years has relied on viral marketing campaigns(Jeremy Allen White in underwear, Greta Lee as a glamorous muse) and collaborations with emerging designers such as Nensi Dojaka and Heron Preston. With this new artistic direction, Calvin Klein seems to be reconnecting with its heritage while reaffirming its influence in contemporary fashion.
