Kim Kardashian faces the growing success of her daughter North West

Kim Kardashian finds herself faced with a major challenge: managing her daughter North’s emerging career, while pursuing her own. A role of “momager” she had not anticipated.
Kim Kardashian, reality TV star and accomplished businesswoman, must now juggle her own projects with those of her 11-year-old daughter North West. In a recent episode of season 6 of The Kardashians, previewed by People, she confides her confusion to her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister Khloé Kardashian. The pressure of this new responsibility seems to weigh on her, so much so that she admits, “It’s her or me.”
A difficult “momager” role
Used to managing her own image and businesses, Kim Kardashian is discovering a new and very different role: that of “momager”, a term popularized by her own mother, Kris Jenner, who propelled her five daughters to stardom. Yet despite her mother’s example, Kim says she’s overwhelmed. She admits she’s not ready, and worries about the amount of time it takes to manage North’s career, especially during photo shoots and professional collaborations.
Faced with these challenges, she wants to maintain a balance between North’s life as a child and her fulfillment in the world of show business. In the World’s First Podcast, she already explained, “We really sit down as a family to see what’s too much and what’s not.”
North West: a career already well underway
Despite her young age, North West is multiplying her experiences. She recently lent her voice to young Simba in Mufasa: The Lion King, and has made a name for herself as a rapper alongside her father Kanye West and FKA Twigs. These ambitious projects put North in the spotlight, but also raise questions about how to manage her youth and career.
