An ambitious new project is taking shape in Saudi Arabia: Dream of the Desert, a luxury train that will traverse the country’s majestic landscapes, linking Riyadh to Qurayyat. A never-before-seen journey to the heart of Saudi Arabia’s treasures.
A 5-star train for an exceptional journey
Saudi Arabia is making its mark on the luxury rail tourism market with Dream of the Desert, a top-of-the-range train designed by Aline Asmar of Amman, in collaboration with the Italian company Arsenale and Saudi Arabian Railways (Sar).
Comprising 14 carriages and 34 luxury suites, this 5-star train will offer an exclusive itinerary through the country’s emblematic sites. From 2026, the first passengers will be able to discover AlUla, Madain Saleh, Al Jawf and Hail, veritable historical and cultural gems.

Designed for an affluent and discerning clientele, Dream of the Desert offers a unique experience where every detail has been carefully crafted. The décor blends contemporary elegance with local inspiration, while the gastronomy promises a refined culinary experience, combining Saudi flavors with gourmet cuisine.

A key project for Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030
This prestige train is part of the Vision 2030 plan to diversify the Saudi economy through tourism. With a target of 100 million visitors a year by 2030, the country is stepping up initiatives to attract high-end travelers.
