Rue Boyer studio, music for the Grammy Awards 2025

The Grammy Awards 2025 honored several albums conceived in France, notably in the Rue Boyer studio, which has become a key venue for the world’s greatest artists.

While we often think of the USA as the birthplace of the world’s greatest recording studios, Paris is now establishing itself as a popular destination for music production. It was in the 20th arrondissement, at the Rue Boyer studio, that some of the albums honored at the 2025 Grammy Awards were recorded. Among them, Neverender, the fruit of collaboration between Justice and Tame Impala, saw part of its production carried out in this studio in the heart of Belleville.

Inspired by Electric Lady

The history of the Rue Boyer studio is rooted in the admiration of its founders, Maxime Le Guil and Victor Lévy-Lasne, for a mythical place: the Electric Lady studio in New York, founded by Jimi Hendrix. In 2009, Maxime Le Guil took his first steps there as an intern. The experience left a lasting impression on him, and fueled his ambition to create a space in Paris where artists could benefit from an exceptional setting to produce their music.

With his partner Victor Lévy-Lasne, he first launched Mix with the Masters, a program of masterclasses for producers and sound engineers, before turning their dream into reality in 2022 with the opening of the Rue Boyer studio. The new space quickly became a must for international music stars.

A studio that attracts the biggest names

As soon as it opened, the Rue Boyer studio attracted some of the biggest names in the music industry. Jack Antonoff, producer to Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, was the first to work there in 2022, recording tracks for the Midnights album. Since then, other prestigious artists have followed in his footsteps: Pharrell Williams, Rosalía, Beyoncé, and many others come here to finalize their projects.

The studio boasts exceptional acoustics and a configuration that allows each track to be precisely isolated. “Conventional studios prefer large recording rooms, but here we’ve thought out every room to optimize sound quality,” explains Victor Lévy-Lasne.

Worldwide recognition

The Rue Boyer studio’s success extends beyond France’s borders. In January 2024, it was awarded the prize for best studio in the world at the Tech Awards, a prestigious distinction in the music industry. Today, the studio’s booking book is filled months in advance, testifying to its growing importance.

The future of the Rue Boyer studio

While Rue Boyer already attracts some of the biggest stars, its founders are keen to highlight the work of female music producers, who are still too often in the shadows. Rosalía, Billie Eilish and Caroline Polachek are among the artists who not only perform but also produce their own music. ” The public needs to understand that women are also behind the consoles and software”, Victor Lévy-Lasne emphasizes.

In just a few years, the Rue Boyer studio has established itself as a symbol of the revival of music production in France. With world-renowned artists flocking there, it embodies a new era in which Paris is becoming an essential reference point for the international music industry.
