Jacquemus, spectacular architect
For its grand return to Paris Fashion Week, Simon Porte Jacquemus made its mark with a sunny, architectural collection, blending glamour and minimalism. The show, held in architect Auguste Perret’s former apartment in the 16th arrondissement, offered an intimate and iconic setting for this exceptional presentation.
A fashion show with a confidential atmosphere
Jacquemus wanted to reveal itself without artifice, in harmony with the sober elegance of the chosen venue. “With this collection, I want to bare myself before you, without artifice,” the designer confided on Instagram. Every detail was designed to immerse the forty privileged guests in a unique experience. Notes of intent placed on the seats introduced the tone of the show, while a romantic soundtrack and hushed atmosphere recalled the Couture shows of the 40s and 50s.
Outside, a fan zone welcomed the public who had come to salute Jacquemus’ audacity and talent, despite the inclement weather. Among the distinguished guests were celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Audrey Tautou and Carla Bruni, reinforcing the prestigious aura of the event.
A sculptural and poetic collection
The collection seduced with its geometric lines and sculptural volumes, revisiting haute couture classics with modernity. Silhouettes subtly blended glamour and architectural audacity, with details such as balloon sleeves, half-sphere pants and ball-shaped jackets. Marked waists and worked cuts redefined body contours, embodying a perfect balance between structure and fluidity.
Iconic pieces included majestic flared dresses and creations playing on transparency, highlighting a sunny, Mediterranean aesthetic. The house’s iconic colors, such as red and striped patterns, were omnipresent, anchoring the collection in the luminous Jacquemus universe.
