Lunar New Year at la Samaritaine: the program!
From January 22 to February 4, 2025, la Samaritaine celebrates the Lunar New Year with free events and cultural demonstrations in honor of the Year of the Snake.
For the Lunar New Year, officially celebrated on January 29, 2025, la Samaritaine is transformed into a place of cultural and festive exploration. In partnership with the Chinese Tourist Office in Paris, the department store is offering an immersive program celebrating wisdom, transformation and renewal, symbols of the Year of the Snake.
Cultural events for the Lunar New Year
The festivities are spread over two weeks, offering visitors a host of not-to-be-missed events:
- January 25: Master calligraphers create personalized works of art from 11am to 7pm on the first floor. They highlight values such as happiness and prosperity through the art of calligraphy.
- February 1: The spectacular dragon dance crosses Pont-Neuf and Place de la Monnaie to end under the glass roof on the 5ᵉ floor, with three performances scheduled at 11am, 3pm and 5:30pm.
- January 31 to February 2: The ancestral art of traditional embroidery is highlighted. Artisans showcase their skills on the first floor from 11am to 7pm.
Beauty and well-being
The store’s -1 level features a selection of Asian beauty brands such as Florasis and COSRX, known for their natural, innovative formulas. An opportunity to discover products in tune with the transformative spirit of the Year of the Snake.
