Rick Owens fall-winter 2025-26: the art of minimalist travel
At Paris Fashion Week, Rick Owens presented a Fall-Winter 2025-26 collection centered on the theme of travel, blending minimalist aesthetics and artisanal craftsmanship, with a notable first collaboration with Rimowa.
A poetic and introspective fashion show
The show, held on January 22 at the Palais de Tokyo, took place in a dreamlike atmosphere, amplified by David Bowie’s soundtrack. Heroes echoed through a smoke-filled hall, evoking an introspective journey. Rick Owens, in his notes, explains that he wanted to capture the essence of journeys and creation, rooted in his personal history. For the past twenty years, he has been a regular visitor to Concordia, Italy, where his factory and eponymous hotel testify to his commitment to craftsmanship.
A collaboration with Rimowa
The highlight of the season is the capsule created with Rimowa. Owens offers suitcases combining black leather and metal, inspired by the work of artist Richard Serra. Accessories such as cow-fur labels and bronze-lined flair pants underline this fusion of functional design and experimental luxury.
Exceptional craftsmanship
The collection reflects a unique blend of materials and techniques. Latex waves by Matisse Di Maggio and laser-cut leather straps by Victor Clavelly illustrate meticulous craftsmanship. Bangs, textures and finishes reflect a quest for movement and elegance, where each piece embodies a visual and tactile journey.
Living on the move with less
Rick Owens advocates a return to the essentials: “I can fit everything in a carry-on.” This philosophy translates into thermo-regulating fabrics and an approach that reduces material needs while valuing every choice.
